This space usually includes all the components required for the operation and maintenance of the engine, such as belts, hoses, sensors, fuel system, air conditioning compressor, battery, starter motor, alternator, radiator, thermostat, water pump, intake manifold, exhaust system, and sometimes even a transmission. The engine compartment is usually located in the front of the vehicle, but it can also be found at the back or in some cases, in both locations.
